Packing
Export packing is standard; the bag, the pallet and the label are yours to specify.
20 kg or 25 kg laminated paper bags with double PE liner. Flakes also come in 10-14 kg bags, because they fill a bag by volume long before they reach the weight limit.
Your bag, your label, your specification - from the plant. Artwork goes on sealed bags at our own godown, so nothing is reopened after it leaves the certified plant.
From 1 pallet (LCL, mixed pallets possible) to full container. Indicative 20-ft load: approx. 9-13 t depending on cut (flakes are bulkier than granules and powder).
Minimum 12 months unopened, stored cool and dry. Best-before dating is on the spec sheet and every lot label. Reseal opened bags, first-in-first-out. HS code: 0712 20.

What the range is, where it comes from and what it means for your specification.
Dehydrated onion is fresh onion with the water taken out: sliced, dried on a belt dryer to about 6 % moisture and then broken, milled or sieved into a size band. Eight to nine kilos of fresh onion become one kilo of dried product, which carries the same sugars and sulphur compounds without the water, the weight or the cold chain. Nothing is added to the standard product - no sulphites, no preservatives, no colour.
The size band is the product. Flakes stay visible in a soup; chopped and minced spread through a filling or a dough; granules flow through a dosing line; powder dissolves into a sauce base. White onion is the neutral industrial standard and red onion adds colour and pungency, so the same ten dehydrated onion products cover most of what a food manufacturer specifies. Fresh onion from the same belt covers the rest.
Overview
KlarHarvest dehydrated onion products come from white and red onions grown in the Mahuva belt of Gujarat, harvested from March to May and dried within the season at BRCGS-certified plants. Every cut is sieved to its band, dried to 6 % moisture or less and packed with nothing added; every lot is tested by an NABL-accredited laboratory before it is loaded, and the report travels with the goods. Microbiology is quoted in three tiers - Standard, Low and Extra Low Bacterial - against the kill step your process has.
We are a merchant exporter, not a plant: we select the unit, specify the lot, have it filled and sealed inside the certified plant, and ship it under our own label from Pipavav port. That is why dehydrated onion products from KlarHarvest can be ordered from a single pallet, mixed across cuts and colours on the same pallet, and quoted with the full document set inside one business day. Fresh onion ships from the same premises, FCL, in ventilated containers.

Manufacturing process
Eight steps from a cured bulb to a sealed, lot-coded bag. Where a defect can enter the product, the step says so.
White and red onion come off the fields around Mahuva from March to May, cured, and are graded and stored under moving air at the plant. It takes 8-9 kg of bulbs to make 1 kg of any dehydrated onion product.
Tops, roots and outer skins off - the station that decides root and skin fragments in the finished cut.
A chlorinated wash and a hand-picking belt for damaged and off-colour bulbs.
Slices cut to the thickness the cut needs; nothing is dipped, and the colour is the onion's own.
One layer on a multi-stage belt dryer, air temperature stepping down over several hours to 5-6 % moisture - a gentler curve for red onion than for white.
Sieved into flakes, or milled to chopped, minced, granules and powder; optical sorters, magnets and sifters ahead of packing on every line.
Low and Extra Low Bacterial lots pass a validated steam step and are re-dried; Standard tier does not.
Metal detection on every bag, a heat seal with lot code and QR, and a hold in the warehouse until the laboratory report is issued and you release the lot.

Applications
The uses this cut is specified for most often. Tell us yours and we will say whether it is the right one.
Flakes and chopped cuts rehydrate in the pot; powder and granules dissolve into bases and gravies. One supplier for every onion form a recipe needs.
Flakes toast on rolls and focaccia in the oven time; granules and powder season chips and extruded snacks in the coating drum.
Granules and powder are the onion in dry blends, rubs and stock cubes: free-flowing, easy to weigh and stable in the bag.
Minced and chopped cuts spread through a mince evenly and bind water; rehydrated flakes go into deli and pasta salads.
Red onion cuts keep their colour in curry bases, chutneys and pickles; the white cuts serve the milder recipes.
Kitchens hold dried onion in dry store all year; wholesale markets in the Gulf and Southeast Asia take fresh bulbs by the container.

Ask about your marketQuality
What is certified, what is tested, and what is still in process - stated as it is today.
Every dehydrated onion product is filled and sealed inside a BRCGS-certified plant in Mahuva; no bag is opened or repacked outside the plant that sealed it.
An NABL-accredited laboratory tests each dehydrated lot before loading - pesticides to EU Regulation 396/2005, microbiology, heavy metals, physical parameters - and the report reaches you before the container. Fresh onion ships with a phytosanitary certificate per shipment.
No sulphites, no preservatives, no colour; an anti-caking agent only on request for granules and powder, and then declared.
A lot code and QR on every dried-onion bag, a lot code on every mesh bag, linking to the plant or packhouse, the harvest and the laboratory record.
FSSAI licence and APEDA registration in process; the numbers go on this page the day they are issued.

Certificate of analysis before stuffing; the container waits for your release.
Bags counted into the box on video, the seal number recorded, the container followed to your port.
Status, photos, video and every document behind one link, from inquiry to delivery.
FAQ
What buyers ask about this range before the first order. Anything not covered here, send us the question - you have an answer within one business day.
Flakes if the onion should be seen, powder if it should disappear, granules if it is dosed by machine. Send us the application and we send samples of two or three cuts for direct comparison.
One pallet - 800 to 1,000 kg depending on the cut - as LCL or as part of a mixed pallet. Fresh onion is FCL only.
Yes. Any of the ten dehydrated cuts can share a pallet, heavier cuts at the bottom, and the pallet ships as one line item with one document set.
Yes. No sulphites, no preservatives, no colour. A food-grade anti-caking agent is added to granules or powder only on request, and it is declared.
A minimum of 12 months unopened, stored cool and dry. Reseal opened bags at once and work first-in-first-out; powder is the most hygroscopic form.
Yes. Your bag and label, applied to sealed bags at our own godown; artwork is agreed at order confirmation.
Yes - each product page carries its specification, and the PDF spec sheet with the same values is sent with every quotation.
Line by line, on the same basis: the cut and size band, the microbiological tier, the moisture limit, the Incoterm and port, the packing and the validity date. A dehydrated onion price for the standard tier FOB Pipavav cannot be compared with an extra-low-bacterial price CIF Hamburg; our quotation states every one of those lines so the comparison is possible, and we will restate it on your basis if you send the competing offer's terms.
Europe buys white flakes and powder first - soup, sauce and seasoning houses - with chopped and granules behind them; the Gulf buys white and red flakes for foodservice and toasted onion for retail; Southeast Asia buys red onion cuts for sambals, curry bases and snacks. The market pages on this site say which dehydrated onion products each destination imports and what the document set looks like.
On request, from partner plants with a toasting step: flakes or granules dried further to a golden-brown colour and a caramelised flavour, quoted as a separate specification with its own colour reference. Natural and toasted dehydrated onion are not interchangeable in a recipe, so say which one the application needs.
Dehydrated onion is the whole vegetable minus water: it carries texture, fibre and the full flavour profile and is dosed by weight. Oleoresin and essential oil are solvent or steam extracts, fifteen to thirty times stronger, used where only flavour is wanted and no particle may show. We supply the dehydrated onion only; a blender who needs both usually buys the extract from a flavour house.
